Talent Land, one of the biggest technology oriented events in Latin America took place last week in Guadalajara, Mexico. It was filled with very diverse, but equally interesting topics and technologies that were presented by leading professionals in their respective fields. I had the pleasure of listening to our co workers here in Lefort speak about what makes our brand and product potentially life changing for the generations to come.
The first talk “Rise of the machines” was presented by Daniel Rodriguez and Luis Garcia, both from our development team. Presenting some of the most important technological advances and inventions that gave birth to the first, second and third industrial revolution. It was mentioned how humans had to change their whole perspective of society and of the world to be able to make this jump from walking and riding horses, to using massive trains powered by the steam locomotive to transport people and our resources, just to give an example. That is the kind of change in perspective we will need for what is to come.
The technology that we are working on and developing here in Lefort will impact the fourth industrial revolution, that is also known as Industry 4.0. Automation, data exchange, the internet of things, cognitive computing; we are focusing on building and programming what may seem to be the smallest things but they will be able to make an enormous change in the way humans work and live. These intelligent networks that can control each other autonomously, “robots” that can react to unexpected changes in production or data input. Repetitive processes and many manual processes in a worker ́s daily routine that do not add value are expected to be reduced and almost eliminated completely. That is how the machines will rise and take the human race even higher.
The second talk “How to build a bot company focused on people” was presented by our Co-founder, Javier Garcia. We were able to experience through his words the beginning of the company and the many challenges one faces when tackling an idea that is new and has the potential to benefit thousands of lives if done correctly. Through what Javier explained I could understand that being successful once, means that you probably failed a thousand times before, how great ideas take time and a great team to grow and develop. How he sometimes felt this was nearly impossible to achieve but with his family and his team always showing support the impossible idea grew into an existing product.
He spoke about how difficult it can be in a world that seems to be focusing more on massive production and money-making to keep in mind what is truly important, family, meaningful relations, creativity and our legacy. That is what Lefort stands for, believing that we all have a purpose to pursue, and by leaving behind the activities we do not need or add value, we can start focusing on developing ourselves and the people around us so we can all achieve our greatest potential.
The talks were perfect examples of what Lefort is doing and why we are doing it. Talent Land was the perfect stage for these ideas to be presented and we hope we will be there next year to keep working on our product and most importantly to be able to see face to face again the intelligent and innovative minds that will use this technology to benefit not only our country but everyone around the globe.
